Mr Benny Lee
BREADstudio
Benny Lee is a Registered Architect in the United
Kingdom, graduating with a First Class Honours
degree in Architecture from the University of
Hong Kong with a top year prize in design, before
completing the postgraduate degree from the
Bartlett School of Built Environment, University
College of London. Benny’s thesis design was
commented to possess ‘Exceptional Aspiration’ by
Lord Norman Foster.
Before founding BREADstudio, Benny had over
10 years of experience working in renowned
international practices, such as Senior Associate
and Head of Design Communication at Ronald Lu
& Partners, Foster + Partners and Arup Associates.
At BREAD, including the most recent Perspective’s
40 under 40 architects award, Benny has won
over 25 international open competitions. His
practice was often exclusively interviewed by
international media such as BBC, CNN and
New York Times. As emergent young architects,
BREAD is currently realizing a handful of building
projects around Hong Kong. As a past exhibitor in
UABB, parasite…etc, and curator of Harbour City‘s art event, BREAD is also passionate in art projects including sculptures, curation & art consultancy.
Apart from practice, Benny lectures for Hong
Kong Design Institute as design tutor of their
architectural bachelor course, as critic/jury
for The University of Hong Kong, The Chinese
University of Hong Kong, Chu Hai College and City University. He was recently elected to the Chapter Committee of RIBA Hong Kong Chapter.
